New work

I just finished this new piece. This piece is a bit larger than my usual. I like to change it up a bit. This is 16 x 20 and the sides are wrapped in maps. I think I have spring on the brain!!!

You can find this in my etsy shop. Talk to you soon!

Winter storm blows in creativity.....

I just love these. It was sleeting/snowing so my little guys and I made these..... I guess you can call them curtains. We laminated tissue paper and hung them on little nails. This is the extra room upstairs , and we are turning it into a music, art, reading room for them. I have all their artwork displayed.... I just might move in.

The top pic is a faux stainglass I made ....... I took an old frame and cut sections from plastic light covers. I used the kids really cheap suncatcher paint for the corners. If you mix white with the colors it looks almost real. The walls in my bedroom are navy and the windows just have white blinds so I like the contrast.

A room with a view.....

I just love chairs. I am not sure why , and the older the better. This is the first in a series of chair collages. I like the idea of the inside and outside meshing together. I also wanted to change my color palette a bit. I tend to be heavy on the blue and green. You can find this new piece in my etsy shop.

Pollyanna is reborn

I have a wonderful family. We have a home , cars, toys , clothes , plenty of food........ really everything we need and some things we want. There will always be more things that add to our wish list. I try to keep things in perspective. I want for no more than what I have. If we are put in situations that allow us to obtain these " wish " items, I am very thankful. I try to remind my children that some in the world have not a home or even food.

When things begin to add up....... like our recent dishwasher breaking, car handle cracking off etc., I like to remind myself that I am so lucky. I told my husband ( giggling ) that we should be glad that we had a car for the handle to crack off ( mind you the repair is $ 300 ). Better the car than a bone . I complain about the endless stream of birthday gifts for my kids to purchase for friends........ I should be glad that they have friends to buy for. I know it seems like a strech, but positive energy attracts its likeness. No , I am not a Pollyanna and often times my glass does appear half empty. I remind myself that I have the choice to see it half full.....

My little picasso.....

This is a portrait of me done by my wonderful little 7yr old. ( This is reminding me to pluck my eyebrows.... they are looking a bit heavy ). He is quite the artist , he is always in a corner drawing something. If you are wondering what is hanging from my pants..... well they are drawstrings from my lounge pants ( my son has an amazing attention for detail!! ). Hanging in the background is a collage of a bird that I have hanging in my house. I love this portrait not only because he did one of me, but because he knows that I love that bird picture ....... and he loves me!!! Thanks Harrison , you make me laugh just thinking of you!!!

What is your story??

Oh , where does the time go! The million dollar question. I can not believe that Valentines is soon upon us. I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that Christmas is over! I looked in the mirror and noticed that I have become old!! Yes , I am so gray along my part and in the morning my eyes are so dark underneath and many many lines ........ I am in my late thirties so how did this happen? I have two young boys and sure they are a handful . I should not complain. We should embrace these rights of passage. These stamps of time are the words to our lifes story...... right? I always love to see pictures of people as they age.... you can read them without even hearing their voice. Every line , every gray hair ..... they all compile a lifetime of their work. Society seems to make us cover this up ..... keep the book closed so to speak. We should feel o.k. with these little reminders that our story is getting deeper and richer.

I will embrace these gray hairs, and I am going to laugh and smile despite the lines that appear along my eyes. I am a writer and my story will be told.

Embrace who you are despite what you think you should be. You are the storyteller..... be heard.

I am in Philadelphia !!!!!

These are new pieces that I just sent to " Vix Emporium " in Philly, PA. You can now find me in Maryland at " The Muse " and in PA. I have also been busy working on some root boxes ( I love my little boxes! ).
There is so much going on that it seems like the little time I do have to create keeps getting smaller and smaller. Soon Spring will be here and we will all get our energy back!
These times that are upon us are history making ...... we should really take it all in and realize we do carry the little piece that completes the puzzle. I do not think of myself as a savy " political " person, however how can you not be intrigued by the upcoming elections. What ever your view , change is going to come ...........
