A day at Lucketts......

Today I had a great day with two good friends in Lucketts VA. It is such a small little place with a cluster of the cutest little antique/boutiques ever! Although I ended up buying nothing, I loved looking at all the unusual things.

This is a gigantic scrap metal rooster. Perfect for the yard!!!!

Here is a gal that might have seen better days!!

A dream, a cluster of old shutters.
Although most everything was very over priced, I had a great time enjoying friends company.

A new piece and a movie......

O.k...... here is another new piece that I will put into my etsy shop on Tuesday morning. This is a 5.5 x 8 on wood. I have another bigger piece I will show you tomorrow. I am in a tree kinda mood these days. I do have some more figures swimming around in my brain that will come out soon enough.

If you have not already seen the HBO movie " Grey Gardens" I really recommend it. I finally watched it with my husband last night.

A Gentle Wind.....

Just finished this little collage. I am taking this to "The Muse" tomorrow ( cross fingers they do not call me to sub for the 3rd day in a row!!!). I love the names on the paint chips . I used a scrap of Gentle Wind blue in the top portion . I have another one a bit similar coming soon and I promise it is going into the etsy shop.

Trouble Finding Home.......

These days I have had much trouble Finding Home. It seems I am just running in circles, totally in a good way , yet busy and exhausting at the same time. I have been in the kids school a lot, which I love, however I have been neglecting many things that make me feel a balance in my life. I have had to beg borrow and steal time to create more work. I know things will change once summer comes ( I hope! ). I am really excited about a few new things coming up. I am teaching a workshop through the Community action agency. The clients are families that have been without a home for whatever reason and now will be receiving housing. We will create a collage for them to keep in their home for inspiration and focus. This is a perfect chance for me to do volunteer work in the community and teach what I love! Win / Win !

Here is a sneak peak at a new piece.

Whitney this one is coming your way.... It will be available at The Muse in Frederick this week.

My little guy having fun at the Baltimore Zoo in the tree slide. A fun day!

I hope all is well with you..... off I go hoping to Find a little Home today!

Another new piece

This is another new collage on wood. It is now at "The Muse" in Frederick. I like working with this color pallette. I think it is a departure from alot of my other work.

The class went great. I loved how focused everyone was, and their mini collages turned out wonderful. It always makes it easier to teach when everyone is really excited to try new things.

Busy weekend ahead. We have a cub scout campfire pack meeting , baseball games and birthday parties. On Monday I am off to the Baltimore zoo for my Kindergartner's field trip....... I am only thankful that I did not get selected to ride the 50 min. on the school bus!!!

Crossing things off!

Just finished this collage on wood. I am taking it to "The Muse" tomorrow along with a few other little goodies. I am slowly crossing things off my list of " To Do's" . I can feel my shoulders getting a bit lighter and my enthusiasm is coming back!! I am learning that it is o.k. to not be able to do everything. It is o.k. to say No.

I am teaching my 2nd collage class tomorrow...... this will be a larger crowd so I think it will be a lot of fun. I have a few more days to myself and then I am off and running . Many birthday parties, campfires, field trips to the zoo and butterfly gardens , class orientation, volunteering , throw in the laundry and that is my next week!! I am ready!!

More little Paint chip homes

I just love working in this size and utilizing my little paint chips. Although the yellow house is not quite as neon as it appears. My scanner color is really off. These will be at the Muse next week sometime. I hope to have more for my etsy shop really soon!
Side note: I was a sub today for kindergarten. I am so exhausted and I feel as if my brain is mush. I have even more respect for all the teachers who do this everyday and especially with a smile!

A sneak peek at something new. I am actually working on 3 of these at the same time. I work faster that way. I get so sick of a piece if I work on it for very long. When I work on many at the same time, I can hop from one to the other.
I taught a class last night on "mini collage". It is always a bit stressful trying to prepare for these classes. I am definitely not a person who likes to be in the spotlight, so when all eyes are on you , it creates a bit of uneasiness. Everyone did really well and seemed to enjoy it. I do not think I said anything tooo foolish . I am doing another next week for a bigger crowd.....

I love those paint swatches.....

I love walking into the paint department and browsing through all the paint swatches. I would not dare put many on my walls , however I love love love the colors! I grab a handful every time. So I have many of these paint swatches and decided to use them. I love the little window cutouts. I just put these in my etsy shop. I have 2 more coming by the end of the week , maybe in a rich gold or bright pink.... hmmmm .
It is raining here and will be the entire week. I have finished my chores so off I go to start a busy day creating!!!
