Something new.....

Here is a new piece I just finished. It is a square and you see how nicely it fit in my rectangular scanner. Piece the above together and there you have it. Oh how I wish for a new scanner and printer..... throw in the winning lottery ticket and I would be happy!!!
I took an old photo of my mother and grandparents and inverted the color on my computer. I then made a copy and created a transfer using clear contact paper. It is a little different for me however I do like how it came out. I am not sure what I will do with this .... since it has such a personal connection to me , I think I will have to keep it.

It has been almost a week.......

Where have I been??? Well, many of the teachers in my kids school have been very ill. So I have been subbing..... and I taught a class at Margaret Hluch's studio via "The Muse"..... and I have been prepping my 7 new pieces so that I may dive in when time allows. I carved the above and I am still not sure how I feel about it. I love fish..... I think in another life I could have been a fisherman by trade. You might see this one in an upcoming collage or 2!

It is pizza night/movie night in our house tonight and tomorrow is jam packed with baseball.... so maybe Sunday I can get some creative time in.

Fall and baseball a great combination.....

No pictures to show.... I am working on some new things. I promise that I will load my etsy shop with tons of little goodies for Christmas gifts very soon.

This month has been a bit crazy. I have subbed in the school a bit . Illness is all around at school so I know that my days are numbered as far as having kids home with something. Fall baseball has begun and both boys are playing twice a week ...... the same days but not the same times and location..... makes for interesting nights .

You can smell fall in the air ..... my favorite season. Although 4 years ago at this very time my life was turned upside down when my mother was diagnosed with Cancer...... I still hold this time as a treasure. Her illness brought so much to my life and although we lost her ...... she gave me a great gift in knowing the importance of my life, my family , the time we have right now.

My father passed away last month..... and although he had not been apart of my life for over 15 years..... it was another changing moment. My brother and sisters are now the keepers of our family. We will pass to our children the life lessons, the memories we have of who we are and where we came from ..........

Hold tight those close to you. Listen to the words and treasure the stories . Put it into that box we have inside , lock it tight ...... and never loose the key.

For the birds.....

Sorry , it has been an entire week since my last blog. Sometimes I am really good and post at least 2 or 3 a week......
I have been trying to get some things out to stores..... add school , baseball practice , homework, end of summer activities and a baseball game..... and you have an entire week later .
The world just keeps on spinning and I remain standing still watching all of it go by. Sigh..... tomorrow is but another day.

A Tree with Friends......

dd

Here is a new piece I just finished. You can find it in Frederick at " The Muse". I having a million things in the works right now. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed , however I know there is a light coming up ahead. I have noticed that all of my clothes have some kind of glue or paint on them . I need to remember to get an apron . Am I the only messy artist out there?
